We are community members united for the purpose of increasing recognition of the issues surrounding depression and suicide while creating awarness of available resources, education and support. Wisconsin Suicide Facts: - Suicide is the tenth most common cause of death in Wisconsin.
- It is the second most common cause of death among people age 15-34. It is third nationally!
- Suicide rates are highest among people age 65 and older.
- The rate of suicides in Shawano County from 1999-2003 was 15 deaths per 100,000 people, compared with a rate of 11 per 100,000 for the state of Wisconsin as a whole.
